A candid interview with the author of the Into the Savage novella series.
Part 1 Nomad's Pursuit to be released in 2019
- Tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been writing, and where or what gets you inspired to tell stories?
I have been writing for eons.... tethered to the stone of eternity penning the anguish and existence of mankind for future species to recount and remember past mistakes…. Wait did you want a real answer? I’ve been writing seriously for about five or six years now. Out of all the different genres I like and the different stories I enjoy, I mainly stick to what kept the poets of the Romantic Period writing, wanting to connect with people all over and share an experience found only on paper.
- How long have you been working on Part 1: Nomad’s Pursuit, from the Into the Savage series?
Ever since I got launched into the future and had to figure out my way back, not knowing which leap would be the one to take me back home…okay, sorry. Into the Savage was something I’ve always had in the back of my mind but only came to fruition during the last six months of college during my capstone course.
- Do you think the Into the Savage series would eventually make a good TV show or film series?
I would love to see Into the Savage made into comic series to be honest. Movies and tv are neat and would obviously pay the bills for everyone involved, but that’s the go to thing. People don’t primarily seem to write stories in speculative fiction just to write it. They want it on the screen, with all the royalties to boot.
- Why did you choose Endless Ink PH to publish with?
The portents and omens willed it so, etched into the fabric of fate long before my existence…. Last one maybe. I saw an advertisement for them on Facebook. I looked through their work and found them to be a dedicated group devoted to putting out quality work. I think they’re hungry for success just like me.
- You have also written other books, how does Into the Savage differ from the other works you have written?
Hopefully people will read this one. Into the Savage is the first published foray of my writing going to what I’ve always wanted to create, adventure, action, and excitement. Prior stories have been my attempts at horror fiction.
- What are some hobbies or passions you have outside of writing?
Wargaming mostly, miniatures like whatever Gamesworkshop and similar companies produce. I don’t get to play nearly as much nowadays. I try to doodle and draw. Comics, industry news, and other geek-business related info spark my interest as well. I also have a Youtube channel that people should subscribe too *hint hint.* For a while I also practiced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and kickboxing. Hopefully I can get back to it and stop looking like I spend most of my days in a chair typing away while a feedbag is strapped to my face.
- What is something you want readers to know about you?
Dear audience, prospective readers, consumers with hard earned cash. I love you, dearly. I love your money too and want you to buy my work. I won’t disappoint you and will do my best to keep you as a fan. Did I mention I loved you?
- Social media allows fans to connect with authors easier, what is the platform you use the most and why?
Twitter and Youtube seem to be the biggest region for creators. You can find me on there always ready to interact with folks.

- Being an author isn’t easy. What do you find to be the most difficult part about the process?
All that self-doubt and existential dread make things a smidge tough.
- Is there anyone who has helped you along the way that you would like to give a shout-out too or thank for helping you get to this point. Family, friend, or someone else?
First and foremost, Endless Ink has taken a big leap with me and I don’t intend to let them down at all. With that said, my old publisher and company, Gorillas With Scissors and Gypsy Heart Editing, helped me and gave me a start. So, I always have to mention them. There’s a ton of others. Everyone from vet writers Robert Villanueva, his recent book is A Fable of Freedom and Other Stories, and his writer’s group, to folks from college and other writers. I even have to shout out to the independent movement happening in the comics industry. A lot of them get a bad wrap but their crowdfunding projects have been major success stories, and they’ve done a lot to help me out and motivate me as well. I could keep going but that would pretty much be the size of a book itself.
- When a reader picks up your books what should they expect from your stories?
Enjoyment, excitement, and hopefully something a little deeper that gets them wanting to read more from me.
- Part 1: Nomad’s Pursuit, of the Into the Savage series has a bleak tone, what is something you wanted readers to come away with after reading it?
Maybe…. they’re just going to have to read it and see where it takes them. Just remember this is just one glimpse into this world. There’s savagery in the wild, but there’s also freedom.
